Progress!

We travelled to Jacksonville a week and a half ago to get Taylor prepped for Proton radiation. We were hoping to start then, but we were sent home to wait because they weren't ready to begin yet. We are STILL at home, finished a short (3 day) Chemo at APH last week. Taylor finished his outpatient rehab this week and we finally got a confirmation from the UF Proton Institute that "Taylor's plan" for radiation is complete. We are scheduled to go back to Jacksonville on Monday (the 27th) for 6 weeks of radiation. We will continue chemo there are well.
Thanks so much for your continued prayers!

Taylor's Super Bowl Sunday Bon Voyage Party Pics!

Thank you for stopping by to see us! We had a really nice time catching up. So many people came by. We're just sorry we didn't pull the camera out sooner:)

 Super Bowl Sunday Party

Taylor's 94 year old Great Grandma "Mamaw" was able to join us!
Doesn't she look fabulous?

 The Bates Family

The Howells

 The Boyds

...and the Football Pool

At this point we are STILL in Clermont but, our bags are packed for Jacksonville and we expect to leave any minute! Taylor will start Photon Radiation therapy and continue Chemo treatments while in Jacksonville for 6 weeks. He will receive radiation 6 days a week. Many have asked why Jacksonville? It's because this is the location with the specific radiation technology Taylor's type of cancer requires. This type of radiation is so precise in its delivery that Taylor will be getting tattoos on his back at the site of radiation so that the equipment can be aligned each session down to the millimeter.

Taylor is 10 weeks into Chemo treatments and this is typically the time when Ewing Sarcoma patients get surgery to remove the  tumor(s). However, Taylor had surgery in the beginning of his journey and Surgeons removed 99% of the mass that was pressing on his spine. He will continue receiving Chemo on the same aggressive 14 day schedule through July 2012.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support. We so appreciate it.

Love to All!

Lauren and Taylor have been friends, classmates and carpool buddies since Mrs. Carter's pre-k 3 class! They have studied for Mr. Gibson's geography final; sang together in the 8th grade play "Music Man"; prayed together and now they attend East Ridge together.
Lauren really wanted to show her support for Taylor so she and her best friend, Alex, and sister Veronica are participating in The American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" race. They have put together "TEAM TAYLOR". As captains they will lead the team at the annual Relay For Life! You can click here to make a donation:

Prayers for Taylor Continue.

We love hearing how everyone continues to show their love and support for Taylor and our family. It warms our hearts to know that so many prayers continue to flow and gives us a little boost each day.

Zachery, 4 years old
2nd Cousin in Atlanta

Little Zach, hasn't seen his cousin Taylor since the big family 4th of July celebration in North Carolina this past year, but Taylor is still top of mind for him. His mother told us when they were at church last Sunday, Zach raised his hand during the children’s mass and asked for special prayers for his cousin, Taylor.  He’s only four, so he was a little shy, but it was completely his own idea. So sweet.

Thanks Zach. We know God is listening.

A Broncos Sunday

It was a "fantastic " ball game!  The Bronco's vs Pittsburg Steelers, bet you all know which team this household cheered for!?!  The Becorest boys have been HUGE Tebow fans since he played for the Gators.  Once again the game was a thrilling Tebow experience!!   Now we're all looking forward to next weekends matchup with New England! It will be a busy week. Taylor has a 3 day Chemo treatment starting Tuesday and Sammy has his second St. Andrew Spartans Basketball game!  We will keep you posted! Love to all!

Tebow Tebowing over Taylor was one of his favorite Christmas gifts. Well, that and some Gator Duct Tape (another lovely and very thoughtful gift from Taylor's most devoted fan and cousin, Jackson). Yeah, Can you believe the boy is in the mood for Tacos after 5-Days of chemo? Well, if it tastes good, go for it Bubba!

New Year's Eve Celebration at Arnold Palmer
The Holt family brought party hats, pizza and sparkling champaign— but forgot balloons.
No worries! Spencer to the rescue!
